Which makes us realize: most people don't know what the process actually looks like. So here's exactly what happens when you book with Castle Rock Christmas Lights — from first call to lights on.

Step 1: Free consultation (15–30 minutes)

It starts with a conversation. We'll come to your home or do a virtual walkthrough — whichever you prefer.

We want to understand:

  • What look you're going for (classic warm white, colorful, minimalist, full coverage)
  • Which areas you want lit (roofline, gutters, trees, shrubs, walkways)
  • Any HOA guidelines we need to design around
  • Your timeline and budget

After the walkthrough, we'll give you a quote on the spot. No waiting for a callback, no surprise numbers later.

Step 2: Booking and scheduling

When you're ready to book, we take a deposit to hold your installation date. For the 2026 holiday season, we're booking August through October — the best installation windows fill by September.

We'll confirm your installation date, send a reminder the week before, and stay in contact if we need to adjust for weather.

Step 3: Installation day

Our team arrives with everything: lights, clips, extension cords, timers, and all hardware. You don't need to buy a thing.

Residential installations typically take 2–5 hours depending on scope. You're welcome to be home or away — we don't need you there for the whole process, though most clients like to be around for the walkthrough at the end.

What we do

  • Install all lights according to the agreed design
  • Secure everything safely to gutters, rooflines, shrubs, or trees
  • Conceal cords and run a clean, professional-looking installation
  • Test everything before we leave
  • Walk you through timer settings and controls

We clean up completely. The only thing left is a beautifully lit home.

Step 4: Season-long maintenance

Bulbs burn out. Storms happen. Timers drift. We don't disappear after installation.

If anything needs attention during the season, call or text us and we'll be out within 48 hours — usually faster. This is included in your package, not billed separately.

Step 5: Takedown and storage

After the season (typically early January), we return to take everything down. We carefully store your lights in labeled containers so they're ready for next year in perfect condition.

For permanent lighting customers: there's no takedown. Ever. That's the point.
